Where the Villa Poggiolo wines come from

Estate “Tenuta Poggiolo” is the family winery extending on 70 hectares with exclusively first vineyards planted on the hills of Castel San Pietro Terme, a borderland between Emilia and Romagna.

Tenuta Poggiolo was the Dalfiumes’ investment to the enhancement of the great wine-growing potential of our land defined by the strong traditions and ancient history, but also by the research and innovation without losing its original character.

When caring for every single seedling, we are guided by our love for the vineyard.

When making our wine, we forget about the time. Dedication and commitment – lavished season after season, year after year – lead us to continuous challenges, fueled by pure passion, which thus becomes a guarantee of high-quality wines, with full respect to the best of agronomic and oenological traditions.

And it is precisely this strip of land that marks the border between Emilia and Romagna. What we praise in our production is the best of the values and charm of both of these lands.

Here we cultivate the natives such as Pignoletto, the gold of our terroir, Sangiovese, King of Romagna, Albana with a strong and structured character that it can be vinified into both dry and passito, and last but not least Trebbiano.

Not only is it indigenous wine we grow on our territory but also the international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay enhance its potential. Thanks to Dalfiume’s oenological style, these varieties give life to wines with a strong personality with an unexpected expression of our land.”
